Dian Pelangi JFW15
Before Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 started, curious and excited came out in my head even though I was born and grew up from Jakarta. As I’ve never been to Jakarta Paris Fashion before and live in Paris, I am attending more Paris Fashion Weeks. I have no idea what it will look like and I am sure Jakarta Fashion Week has its own identity attach to Indonesian culture.

Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 has already started on 1st until 7th November 2015 where located in Senayan City, one of the prestigious shopping centres in Jakarta. On the first day the local was enthusiastic, wondering what kind of the new trendsetter will be for the next seasons. All local designers ready to show off their newest collections. Some of foreigner designers such as from Thailand and Japan also participate. Not to forget L’Oréal Paris, the world largest cosmetic french company also involved in runway hair parade and makeup during the event.

Traditional Indonesian patterns and fabrics more dominant used by local designers. The reason to use it often caused Indonesia has so many different type of patterns, colours and also the way they make it mostly by hand. Starting from Batik for example; there are some made by stamped also made by waxed. Some of the regions produce the fabrics made by woven. Different images represent the origins of manufacture.

It was the first time also for me to see runway for fashion muslim wear. I must to admit muslim wear in Indonesia more variety, fashionable and fun than to other muslim countries. I could see how big the demand from the local, Malaysia and some middle east countries. From this event has shown that Indonesia is aiming to become trendsetter of muslim fashion world therefore Indonesia is planning to turn into muslim fashion capital in 2020.
